Pros: benefits, cohesion, bonding, ability to help others.
Cons: long tours away from family.
A typical day included a formation at 0800 which meant we needed to be ready by 0745. This instilled that idea of if your fifteen minutes early you’re on time, on time meant you were late, and late meant you were left behind. During the formation we would go over expectations and goals for the day, similar to shift report with nursing. I would oversee and supervise four soldiers below me, and help manage their training along with advocating for them. The hardest part of the job is without a doubt being called to war with a family left behind. This is also the most enjoyable part, because of the fact that even if it a small difference, there is still a difference being made to help others less fortunate.
