My experience in the Army was both challenging and rewarding. I not only gained skill sets one would in a typical work environment such as collaboration and results-oriented problem solving, but also invaluable leadership and mission-critical survival skills. Daily life in the Army included classroom education, tactical training, and field deployment.

Pros: Meeting great people you trust with your life

Cons: Can lead to some long deployments

Review:

Training was non stop. I learned physical fitness, medical and self aid, weapon specs, tactical and informational combative procedures. Discipline was probably the best thing I learned from the military. I trusted my coworkers at and away from work. The hardest part of my job was losing friends. I’ve had many friends die in the past couple of years. Being around my brothers everyday was the most enjoyable.

Pros: Educational benefits

Cons: High potential for toxic workplace environment

Review:

The Army is excellent for young people seeking adventure, but not a great fit for creative-types like myself. Unless you make the Army your life you will not have a great time.

Pros: Loved everything about it. You have the basic politics that get old but otherwise good.

Cons: Politics

I never had a problem with the military. Went in at the age of 18 and got out 13 years later. Did many deployments and enjoy everything about it. The biggest downfall to the military is it’s VA. Veterans are treated like garbage. I put a whole lot on the line in the military and I get nothing in return other than some money monthly and the GI Bill. Taking care of my health would interest me more than money monthly. Teach kids about the real life. Most of them join out of their parents extra bedroom and have no clue for how to take care of themselves. Seriously like the basics of just paying bills needs to be taught.
