As a 25C we spend a lot of time in the field, supporting battalion and brigade comms, as well as providing retrans for other units in the brigade and division. In an aviation support battalion, we typically provide retrans for the FARPS and HQ support element. We are known to support the following MOS’s with comms: aviation, cavalry, infantry, artillery, medical, as well as the higher echelons such as division assets. The job is fun, but can become dull at times. After site setup is done, we monitor radios to make sure we are still retransing and that everyone has effective communication.
